PAYMENT TERMS
Invoices are
payable upon receipt. Where invoices remain outstanding 15 days from the invoice
date, MEC has the option of recalculating all charges to those shown in our
basic tariff.
Overdue balances are subject to interest calculated at 2.5% per month (30% per
annum) which shall accrue and be payable to MEC on all outstanding monies. This
is in addition to any legal rights and remedies accorded to MEC.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITIES
Maximum carrier liability is the lesser of $1.50 per pound ($3.30 per kilogram)
or $50.00. Where you wish declare a value above $50.00 an additional premium
will be charged at the time you place your order. Our maximum liability will be
the lesser of your declared value or the actual value of the loss.
Please note the MEC shall not be liable for any special, incidental or
consequential damages arising from any loss.
The carrier is not liable for any loss, damage, delay or destruction caused by,
but not limited to, acts of God, riots, strikes, disruption in communication
networks or any other event which can not be forecasted or controlled.
The insured value of a shipment can't
exceed $5,000.00 without prior written agreement.
FILING A CLAIM
We
will not be liable for loss, damage, or delay for any parcels unless we are
notified verbally within 24 hours after delivery. A written notice of claim must
also be submitted within 14 days from the date of shipment in order for claim to
be valid.
INDEMNITY
You shall indemnify
us as a consequence of your non-observance of any regulation in which you were
required to observe in connection with a delivery. The carriage of goods is
subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where the goods originated.
